You can import external data into Streak through our native importer tool. Each row in your file will be a box (i.e., a row) in whichever Streak pipeline you choose. The importer tool supports Google Sheets, CSV, and Excel files.
If you want to import multiple contacts all at once, the easiest way is to add each contact on a different row in your sheet. This is true even if you have multiple contacts that you'd like to import to the same box.
When importing, if an existing contact with matching email address is found, the existing contact will be updated (and a new / duplicate contact will not be created).
Be sure to use the same Name data in your Google Sheet/CSV/Excel file that will match to the box's Name in your pipeline.
The importer tool will see that there's multiple rows with the same box name and know to combine this data together when used in tandem with the Update existing boxes option under "Advanced settings" of the importer tool:
When omitting the Box Name, Streak will fall back to using the email address or Given Name + Last Name (depending on available data. It is best practice to specify the Box Name during import and avoid system determined default values.
If a contact has more than one email address, (e.g. a personal email address and a business email), separate using a comma. If a contact belongs to multiple boxes, any updates made to that contact's details using the import feature will automatically reflect across all associated boxes, ensuring consistent information.
Step-by-Step Contact Update Process
Prepare your spreadsheet by including columns for Email Address, Box Name, and the specific fields to update (e.g., phone number).
Ensure records in your file match the exact names and email addresses in your Streak account.
Use Streak’s importer tool to upload the file.
Verify the import summary to confirm correct updates and avoid unintended box creations.
