Summary: This guide explains what Contacts and Organizations are in Streak and how you can use them to track information, communicate with people, and manage your workflow within pipelines.

What are Contacts and Organizations?

Contacts and Organizations are the people and companies that your team interacts with. Each one has its own dedicated page in Streak where you can see a complete history of all interactions.

Using features like mail merge, automatic email sharing, and Streak Upcoming with your contacts allows you to:

  • Share information easily with your team.

  • Use time-saving shortcuts for outreach.

  • Engage with people and companies directly from your pipeline.

How to Add Contacts and Organizations to a Pipeline

Every pipeline in Streak has a default "Contacts and Organizations" column where you can add people and companies to your boxes.

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Navigate to the pipeline where you want to add a contact or organization.

  2. Find the box you want to update.

  3. In the "Contacts and Organizations" column for that box, begin typing the name or email of the person or company.

  4. Select the correct entry from the list to add it.

You can also create "Just Contacts" or "Just Organizations" contact and organization columns to track specific roles, such as "Decision Maker" or "Department Head".

Once you add a contact or organization to your boxes, you can use a number of tools to reach out to your contacts and track information in Streak.

How to View Your Interaction History with a Contact/Organization

Each contact or organization in Streak has its own dedicated page that gives your team a complete history of interactions with that person or company.

All of your team’s emails with a contact or organization appear automatically in the Team activity section of their page. At the top, you’ll also see which pipelines they’re part of, along with their contact details.

To navigate to the this overview page for a contact/organization:

  • Click the green contact/organization from your pipeline, box view, or sidebar.

  • Click the arrow icon at the top right corner of the contact/organization

How to Take Action from the Contact/Organization Card

You can quickly reach out to your contacts directly from several places in Streak: the Streak sidebar (below), the pipeline view, the contact page, or the box view.

Click the three dots in the contact card to:

  • Begin a new email draft

  • Start a phone or video call (via Hangouts, your native dialer, or an iOS device)

  • Start a chat with the contact (via Hangouts)

  • Create a Google Calendar event with the contact as an invitee

How to Send a Personalized Mail Merge

You can create personalized emails in bulk by sending a mail merge to your contacts. Use custom variables from your pipeline columns to include details like the contact's name or title.

How to Create Follow-Up Tasks for Contacts

Organize your follow-ups by creating tasks, which you can find in the Upcoming sidebar. When you create tasks for boxes that contain contacts or organizations, Streak will suggest actions to help you reach out or schedule a meeting directly from the Upcoming view. This allows you to draft an email, create a calendar invite, or make a call with one click.
