A pipeline is the foundational building block of Streak. It gives you a spreadsheet-style view inside Gmail to track and manage any workflow such as a sales process, hiring pipeline, project tracker, or client relationship. Each pipeline is made up of three core components: Boxes, Stages, and Columns.
Boxes
A box represents a single record in your pipeline. For example, a lead, a deal, a candidate, or a project. Each box can store emails, notes, files, tasks, and custom data. The first step to using Streak is to add boxes!
Stages
Stages represent the steps in your workflow. A box moves through stages as it progresses. For example: Contacted → Meeting Scheduled → Proposal Sent → Closed Won.
Columns
Columns store data about each box. Streak offers two types:
Custom columns — fields you define yourself, such as deal value, close date, or priority.
Magic columns — automatically populated fields based on email activity, such as date of last email or number of emails sent.
Formula columns — calculated fields powered by AI. You describe what you want in plain language (e.g. "deal size multiplied by 2%") and Streak generates the formula automatically. Useful for commissions, weighted scores, or any derived data.
Contact columns — link a person or company (contact or organization) to a box. Each contact has their own page in Streak showing email history, pipeline appearances, and related contacts. Useful for tracking who is associated with each deal, project, or record.
AI Autofill columns — columns that Streak's AI fills in automatically, either by reading your box's email timeline or by searching the web. You can add custom instructions to guide what the AI returns (e.g. "Identify the primary industry — choose from: SaaS, Healthcare, E-commerce, or Other").

FAQ
Can I have multiple pipelines? Yes. You can create as many pipelines as you need. Each pipeline is independent and can be customized for a different workflow or team.
Can I use a pipeline for something other than sales? Yes. Pipelines are flexible and can be used for any workflow — hiring, fundraising, project management, partnerships, customer onboarding, and more.
Can I import data into a pipeline? Yes. You can import data into a pipeline via CSV, Excel, or Google Sheets. Go to pipeline and select "Import" from the "Options" menu (three vertical dots).
Can I share a pipeline with someone outside my team? No. Pipelines can only be shared with users who are part of your Streak team.
What's the difference between a pipeline and a box? A pipeline is the overall view of your workflow (like a spreadsheet). A box is a single row (record) within that pipeline.
Note: Pipelines live entirely inside Gmail, no separate tab or tool needed. Everything is accessible from your Gmail's left navigation menu.
